10-gigabit ethernet, or 10G-e, refers to a high-speed network connectivity standard and solution that provides bandwidth of up to 10 gigabits per second. 10G-e delivers significant improvements over traditional gigabit ethernet with speeds 10 times faster and lower latency for mission-critical applications.

10G-e is an ideal solution for bandwidth-intensive needs such as data backup, disaster recovery, high-performance computing, and media production. It enables fast, reliable transfer of large files including 4K video content, high-end graphics, and massive datasets. 10G-e also accelerates network performance for latency-sensitive applications like high-frequency trading, online gaming, and real-time analytics.

10G-e requires 10-gigabit ethernet switches, network interface cards, optical modules, cables, and network operating systems that support the standard. When implemented across a network, 10G-e provides a dedicated 10 gigabit-per-second link between any two points.
